ahanawati’s areas of practice include corporate and commercial law, corporate finance and company secretarial matters.
She has represented various public-listed companies and insurance companies in their merger and acquisition exercises. These involved, among others, acquisition of equity in Malaysian and foreign entities and transfer of assets.
She has advised financial institutions and public-listed companies and drafted financing agreements involving the issuance of Islamic and conventional private debt securities and debt restructuring exercises.
She has also provided legal advisory and drafted circulars to shareholders of public-listed companies on their proposed employees share options schemes, issuance of new shares, private placements, bonus issues, recurrent related party transactions and share buyback.
