The intricacies of banking law demand not only exceptional legal knowledge but also the highest level of commercial understanding. At ATS, we leverage on our extensive experience and expertise to offer clients the sound legal advice they require, across a whole range of commercial, retail and banking transactions. ATS is on the panel of several major banks and financial institutions. We have represented financial institutions as well as private and government entities in various financial transactions, including project financing, property financing and debt restructuring.

Our role includes general advisory work, drafting and negotiations of loan documentation and representations at meetings with government and all parties involved in the transaction.

We have also been involved in several major financing transactions in Malaysia and overseas. These include foreign currency loans involving a syndicate of banks, guarantee facilities and issuance of private debt securities and government loans to private Malaysian enterprises.

In recent years, there has been growing acceptance of and demand for financial products and services based on Islamic principles. Our lawyers are trained in areas of Islamic financing and have been involved in various financing transactions including transactions carried out in accordance with the Syariah principles of Bai-Bithaman Ajil, Murabahah and Al Ijarah.

Property transactions usually involve various forms of financing. In this respect, we also prepare, draft and finalise related documents for facilities such as conventional and Islamic term loans, housing loans and overdrafts.
